March 2020
South Africa joined the rising number of countries across the globe in going into lockdown on Thursday 26 March at midnight for a 21 day period in order to flatten the curve of the Coronavirus spread. As agriculture is an essential service, farming operations continue during lockdown, although within strict safety regulations. An inspiring example of what is done on grower partner farms to make sure safety and hygiene precautions are taken, is Schoonbee Landgoed in the Limpopo province.
They are committed to supporting the fight against the COVID19 pandemic. While they continue to offer unparalleled quality fresh produce directly from the farm to our tables, their added priority during this time is the well-being of their personnel and community. Essential safety measures were put in place to ensure that their workers and their families will be protected.
We applaud all our Foundation partners for their incredible work during this very challenging time.
