The farm dates back as far as 1779, and came into the Rabie family in 1897, where it was bought by Johannes Christiaan Rabie. The current owners are now the 5th generation farming here.
Table grapes have been farmed here from the early 1900's, where before it was wheat, fruit and cattle. The farm had its own brandy kettle and was a stop over for travellers travelling to the north of the country before entering the karoo in the early days of travelling by horse or wagon.
