The Aids project at Chargo Trust provides all permanent workers who test positive for HIV/AIDS with medication for as long as they are working on the farm.

Dr Van den Hever (farm owner) entered the table grape industry in 1996 with the purchase of Chargo Trust. The Trust's farming interests were expanded in 1998 with the purchase of the farm Sonvrucht, and again in 2001 with the purchase of the farm Dassiesrant. In 2006 the farm Avignon was added to the Chargo Trust family and in 2007.
