Music Development Project Expands Worldview

June 15, 2018

The Waitrose Foundation’s support of the Music Development Programme at Dennegeur Farm in Grabouw, Western Cape, is still yielding good fruit among youth.

Structured training by the Rural Arts Network over the last 2 years and exposing the Marimba Band to professional performances expands the worldview of primary and high school learners. The band recently shared the stage with rap artist, Simon Witbooi and actress, Elsabe Daneel at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town.

The presents of the family members from a farming community to support their children at the artscape theatre, confirmed the broader impact of the Foundation’s work in partnership with member farms.
